I had ross in for a long session to continue the colour on his phoenix, but also to fix up the old piece he has on his upper arm. Originally we thought it was too big to laser and just planned on going around it. Now that there’s a nice and bright phoenix around it, instead of fading politely into the background, the old piece has become a proper eyesore.
Plan B- fix it up. So that was today’s task, I relined and shaded it properly and will add some colour next time, apart from the two wee roses at the back, which will need some lasering

Chiara got a feather on her side, the piece is based on a popular design with the birds flying off it, but our version had colours and patterns

My other appointment for saturday had to cancel šŸ˜¦
However, I had a good day at work, anyway. Tribe 2 was firing on all cylinders – 7 artists tattooing, Roz lasering and Mark piercing, that’s a record! It was a real buzz, and we went for pizza and a few drinks afterwards and gave ourselves a pat on the back.
Our wee italian guest artist Antonella had a great week at tribe 2 and may come back to visit again.

On tuesday Gillian had a few minutes of touch up work done, and i managed to get a few decent photos of her piece, unlike last time. The weather was superb, so we went outside to take the photos, always shows up the colours nicely.
the lily flower and so on at the top of the piece is not one of mine

Aileen is getting her first tattoo. Not a wee thing somewhere hidden ‘to see what it’s like’, oh no, she is jumping in with a full colour sleeve!
it’s a geisha essentially, but Aileen really likes the wonderful combinations of brightly coloured and patterned fabrics that make up the kimono, so the focus will be on the drapery. I have arranged big sweeping folds over Aileen’s arm, with the face and shoulders of the geisha taking up a relatively small part of the design.
this is going to be a lot of fun šŸ™‚

Gillian got a flower on her foot a few years ago, then added another, and now it was time for more, plus some butterflies! We kept the style bold and graphic as before

And jude was in for more on her Kitsune piece. A Kitsune is a japanese 9 tailed fox, a mythological and mysterious creature.
it will be next to a cherry tree with blossoms, which we also started today. Excuse the red eyes in the fox, they are just a bit bloody and i forgot to wipe them before i took the picture. In reality they are yellow.

Apart from Ross, all my customers in the blog are female! I think this is a trend that will continue, as i usher in a new age.
My work seems to go through cycles or ‘ages’
first was the age of the koi
then the age of the dragon,
then that of the phoenix, and now i feel the age of the geisha coming on!
kind of like my version of the chinese zodiac šŸ™‚

Of course they overlap, but the trends are definitely there
